- Avoid traveling around holiday weekends as tickets and hotels will be more expensive. Around national holidays, it is also less likely that your employer location will be open when you arrive.
- Keep all your belongings close to you or on your person. This is especially important in crowded places like airports, bus terminals, and train stations. Keep all valuables – like your camera, wallet, passport, documents, and money – with you and securely contained.
- Do not ever leave your luggage attended! This is important to prevent theft. In addition, all unattended baggage at airports and bus stations will be considered a threat to security.
- As a visitor, you may stand out to people looking for someone to take advantage of. Pay attention and look people in the eye. People are less likely to steal from you, etc. if they think you would be able to recognize them later.
