After September 11, 2001, the US Government implemented SEVIS as a tracking mechanism for all international visitors. You can not be legal in the US if you are not in good standing with SEVIS. Following the program rules concerning validation and status updates for SEVIS is critical to your success and ability to return to the US. No Show and Termination Statuses in SEVIS will carry negative consequences for years to come.

You must submit your Arrival Report for SEVIS Program Validation within 48 hours from when you arrive to the US. Failure to register will result in “No Show Status” and you will have to return home early!

• Your Full Name
• Your AWA ID Number, which can be found on your Student ID Card and begins with the letter “A”
• The Email Address that you used on your AWA Application
• Address in the US: A temporary address (hostel, hotel) is OK.
• Important: Update your address with AWA whenever you move. As your program sponsor, AWA must know where you are living and working at all times. Please remember to check your email often for updates and notifications from AWA.
