In 1996, a bill was passed that allows agencies designated by the United States Department of State as J1 Work/Travel Programs to contract with any international cultural exchange agency. American Work Adventures considers this a privilege, and we are committed to working with overseas partners that will provide a standard of excellence to match our own.
The responsibility of the overseas partner is to recruit qualified participants who are interested in developing job skills and improving their English through this unique, cultural exchange opportunity. Your role is critical to the program as you are responsible for screening and interviewing the participants, helping them complete their application, checking their references, verifying university status, English level, and financial responsibility, assisting them in obtaining Embassy visits, Criminal Background Checks, medical visits, visa documents, and preparing them for their adventure here in the United States.
American Work Adventures will rely on your agency to make sure that ALL applicants have the appropriate motivation and maturity to have a successful experience working in the United States. As our partner agencies are in direct contact with the applicants, AWA will expect you to discuss each student’s expectations and prepare them for the responsibilities of being a seasonal employee in an American company. We trust that you will recruit qualified participants and realistically inform them about what to expect during their work adventure.
Above all, American Work Adventures aspires to maintain excellent business relationships with our overseas partner agencies. As our company steadily grows, we will have the opportunity to analyze and evaluate program expansion, never losing sight of our commitment to providing outstanding service.
The American Work Adventures office headquarters is in Novato, California, from which our centralized staff serves the needs of the J1 Work/Travel Students, Employers, and the Overseas Partners.
