Entering the U.S. - Connecting Flights |
|
|
|
- If you have a connecting flight to your employer, proceed to your next flight as soon as you clear customs and immigration. There are monitors available in multiple locations throughout the airport that display the terminal number of each flight. If you cannot find your connection gate or have missed your connecting flight, be sure to go to the airline ticket counter or customer service counter.
- If at anytime during your trip you get lost, miss your connection, or are delayed please notify your employer and AWA immediately at 1-888-292-0088. Do not wait until you reach your final destination to notify your employer and AWA that you will not be arriving on time.
- If you missed a connection overseas, you will need to use a calling card and call 1-415-257-2208.
Travel Tips
- If you have a connecting flight within the U.S., keep in mind that the following will happen at U.S. security checks:
- Before you are allowed to walk through the metal detector, you are required to remove your shoes, jackets, scarves, belt with large metal buckles, and anything else the guard asks you to take off. All these items will be screened by the X-Ray machine along with your carry-on baggage.
- Remember The 3-1-1 Rule = 3 ounce bottles or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin.
- All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. All three-ounce containers must fit within 1 quart-sized bag. Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag. Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed up the screening process.
